Hours after being left out of Bangladesh's Champions Trophy 2025 squad, Litton Das silenced critics with a stunning performance in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Opening for Dhaka Capitals, Litton smashed his maiden T20 century, finishing unbeaten on 125 off 55 balls, with ten fours and nine sixes at a blistering strike rate of 227.27.
Partnering Litton was Tanzid Hasan, who also notched a spectacular century, scoring 108 off 64 balls with six fours and eight sixes. The duo's mammoth 241-run partnership off 118 balls is the second-highest in men's T20 cricket history. Their fireworks powered Dhaka to 254 for 1, the highest-ever total in the BPL.
Litton reached his century off just 44 balls, the second-fastest by a Bangladeshi in T20s, while Tanzid completed his hundred in the final over. Dhaka's innings began steadily at 22 for 0 after four overs before the pair exploded in the Powerplay, with Tanzid taking 21 off a Sunzamul Islam over and Litton smashing 4, 6, 4 off SM Meherob to get going.
The onslaught continued with both batters reaching their milestones in style. Litton brought up his hundred with a boundary in the 16th over, while Tanzid followed suit with a four in the final over. Sabbir Rahman added finishing touches with a six as Dhaka posted a dazzling 254 for 1.
In reply, Durbar Rajshahi crumbled under pressure, managing just 105 in 15.3 overs. Ryan Burl's unbeaten 47 provided brief resistance, but Rajshahi fell 150 runs short.
This historic match highlighted Litton and Tanzid's brilliance, leaving an indelible mark on the BPL.
