Jasprit Bumrah has reclaimed his position as the world's No. 1 Test bowler after a stellar performance in the second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur. Bumrah’s six-wicket haul helped him surpass teammate R Ashwin, the Player of the Series, in the ICC rankings by a single point. This marks Bumrah’s second tenure at the top, following his historic rise in February 2024, when he became the first Indian pacer to achieve the feat.

India’s batting lineup also made significant gains in the rankings. Yashasvi Jaiswal, the Player of the Match in Kanpur, has risen to third among Test batters after only 11 matches. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli moved back into the top 10, climbing to sixth after crucial contributions in the match.

Sri Lanka’s bowlers also made waves in the rankings. Prabath Jayasuriya, after leading his team to a 2-0 series victory over New Zealand in Galle, has reached joint-seventh among bowlers after just 16 Tests. Kamindu Mendis, with an unbeaten 182 in the same series, surged to No. 11 among batters.

Additionally, Bangladesh's Mehidy Hasan Miraz climbed to fifth among allrounders, joining his teammate Shakib Al Hasan in the top five.
India now boasts three batters in the top 10 and continues to dominate the Test cricket rankings across departments.
