Originally scheduled for a March 15 start, the tournament window was shifted to provide a two-week gap following the Champions Trophy final on March 9. This year’s IPL will maintain the format of 74 matches, consistent with the previous three seasons, even though initial plans for 2025 included expanding to 84 games.
