CPL 2025: Tournament Dates, Teams, and Draft Details Announced

The 13th season of the men’s Caribbean Premier League (CPL) will take place from August 14 to September 21, 2025, as announced by Cricket West Indies (CWI) and CPL officials. This year’s tournament will avoid clashing with West Indies international fixtures, ensuring the participation of top regional players.

“We’re delighted to collaborate with CWI to secure a window that accommodates the region’s best talent,” said Pete Russell, CPL’s chief executive. “Following our record-breaking 2024 season, we’re excited to build on that success in 2025.”

The format will remain consistent with 30 league-stage matches involving six teams, followed by four playoffs: the eliminator, two qualifiers, and the final. St Lucia Kings, the 2024 champions, will defend their title against the Guyana Amazon Warriors, Barbados Royals, Trinbago Knight Riders, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, and the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons, who replaced Jamaica Tallawahs in 2024.

Lynford Inverary, acting CEO and COO of CWI, emphasized the tournament’s importance to Caribbean cricket, stating, “CPL plays a vital role in developing and promoting the sport across the region.”

Details on venues and fixtures will be shared later. Teams will finalize their squads through pre-draft signings and a player draft.
